Privacy policy

Asia Adult Guide is a reference site. It does not require account creation and does not collect personal data from casual visitors beyond what the infrastructure services described below receive automatically. This policy explains what data is collected, who processes it, what rights you have, and how to exercise them.

1. Data we collect

Server and edge logs

When you visit any page on https://asiaadultguide.com, the infrastructure services (Cloudflare, the hosting provider) automatically log your IP address, user agent string, referrer URL, requested URL, HTTP status code, and timestamp. These logs are generated by the network layer and cannot be disabled for individual visitors. They are used for operational purposes only: abuse detection, performance monitoring, and error diagnosis. They are not used to build individual visitor profiles.

Age-gate acknowledgement

The site displays an 18+ confirmation gate on first visit. When you confirm your age, a single entry (aag_age_ack) is written to your browser's localStorage. This is stored locally on your device only — it is not transmitted to any server. It persists until you clear your browser storage. No tracking or analytics purpose is served by this entry; it exists solely to avoid showing the age gate on every page load.

Contact and newsletter email

If you send an email to contact@asiaadultguide.com, your email address and message content are retained only for as long as necessary to respond. If a newsletter subscription is offered, signing up requires explicit affirmative consent (opt-in, not pre-ticked) and you may unsubscribe at any time via a one-click link in every message. Subscriber email addresses are stored in Supabase (see third-party section below) under appropriate access controls.

What we do not collect

We do not collect names, postal addresses, payment card details, government-issued identifiers, biometric data, or sensitive personal data of any kind from casual visitors. We do not build visitor profiles. We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising purposes. We do not sell or share personal data with advertisers or data brokers.

2. Cookies and similar technologies

This site does not set cookies from the Asia Adult Guide domain for tracking or advertising purposes. The only client-side storage mechanism is the aag_age_ack localStorage entry described above. This is not a cookie and is not transmitted to any server.

If third-party analytics are configured (see section 3), those services may set their own cookies. If Google Analytics is active, it sets cookies under the google.com and doubleclick.net domains; you can opt out via the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Cloudflare, which sits between the visitor and the origin server, may set a __cf_buid cookie for bot-management purposes; this is set by Cloudflare, not by Asia Adult Guide, and is described in Cloudflare's own privacy policy.

3. Third-party processors

The following third parties process data in connection with operating this site. Where we have entered into a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with a processor, that DPA governs how the processor handles data on our behalf.

Cloudflare

All traffic to https://asiaadultguide.compasses through Cloudflare's global edge network. Cloudflare receives your IP address, user agent, requested URL, and other request metadata as part of its DNS proxy and DDoS-mitigation functions. Cloudflare is a processor acting on our behalf under its standard DPA. Cloudflare stores logs for a limited period for its own operational and abuse-prevention purposes. Hosting provider (Coolify / Hetzner)

The origin server is hosted on Hetzner Cloud infrastructure via Coolify. Server-level logs (IP address, request, timestamp) are held on the server. Hetzner is a German company and an EU-based data processor subject to GDPR. Coolify processes configuration data only.

Supabase

If you submit a contact form response or subscribe to a newsletter, your email address and submission content are stored in a Supabase PostgreSQL database hosted in the EU (eu-west-2 region). Supabase is a GDPR-compliant processor; data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Supabase does not receive data about casual page visitors who do not submit a form. See supabase.com/privacy.

Resend

Transactional email (contact-form confirmation, newsletter delivery) is sent via Resend. Resend receives recipient email addresses and message content for the purpose of delivery. It stores delivery logs. See resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Google Analytics (if configured)

Asia Adult Guidemay use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect aggregate usage statistics (page views, session counts, referrer sources, approximate geographic region derived from IP address). If GA4 is active, it processes IP addresses and sets cookies as described in Google's privacy policy. We use IP anonymisation where supported. GA4 data is not used to identify individual visitors. If you do not wish to be tracked by Google Analytics, use the opt-out browser add-on linked above or a browser extension that blocks GA4 requests.

4. Jurisdiction-specific rights

Depending on where you are located, different privacy laws may apply to any personal data you share with us. The applicable provisions are summarised below. If in doubt, contact us at contact@asiaadultguide.com — we will respond to privacy requests under whichever framework is applicable.

GDPR (European Union and United Kingdom)

If you are located in the EU or UK, the General Data Protection Regulation (EU 2016/679) and its UK equivalent (UK GDPR + Data Protection Act 2018) apply to personal data you share with us. Our lawful basis for processing contact and newsletter data is consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). Server log processing is on the basis of legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) for operational security. You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. You have the right to withdraw consent at any time. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority (e.g., ICO in the UK, CNIL in France, BfDI in Germany).

CCPA (California, United States)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) applies. We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, to opt out of sale or sharing (not applicable — we do not sell or share), and to non-discrimination for exercising rights. PDPA (Singapore)

If you are located in Singapore, the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) applies. We collect and use personal data only with your consent or for notified purposes. You have the right to access and correct personal data held about you, and to withdraw consent (subject to legal or contractual restrictions). Withdrawal of consent may mean we cannot fulfil a service (e.g., newsletter delivery). To exercise rights, email contact@asiaadultguide.com.

PIPA (South Korea)

If you are located in South Korea, the Personal Information Protection Act (개인정보 보호법, PIPA) applies. We collect only the minimum personal data necessary for the stated purpose. You have rights to access, correction, deletion, and suspension of processing of your personal data. You may exercise these rights by contacting contact@asiaadultguide.com. If you believe your rights have been violated, you may file a complaint with the Personal Information Protection Commission (PIPC).

Japan APPI

If you are located in Japan, the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (個人情報の保護に関する法律, APPI), as revised in 2022, applies. We use personal information (email addresses from contact submissions) only for the stated purpose. You have the right to request disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, and suspension of use of your personal information. To exercise rights, email contact@asiaadultguide.com.

Hong Kong PDPO

If you are located in Hong Kong, the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486, PDPO) applies. We collect personal data on a voluntary basis for stated purposes only. You have the right to request access to, and correction of, personal data held about you. Requests are subject to a prescribed fee as set by the Ordinance. To exercise rights, email contact@asiaadultguide.com. You may also raise concerns with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (PCPD).

India DPDPA 2023

If you are located in India, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDPA) applies. We process personal data with consent, for specified purposes, and only to the extent necessary. You have the right to access information about your personal data, to request correction or erasure, to nominate a representative, and to grieve to the Data Protection Board of India. 5. Your rights — how to exercise them

Regardless of your jurisdiction, you may submit any of the following requests by emailing contact@asiaadultguide.comwith the subject line “Privacy request”:

We will acknowledge privacy requests within five business days and respond within 30 days (or within any shorter period required by applicable law). We may ask you to verify your identity before actioning a request.

6. Data retention

Server and edge logs: retained by Cloudflare for up to 72 hours at the free tier; Hetzner server logs are retained for up to 30 days and then deleted or anonymised. Contact and newsletter email addresses: retained until deletion is requested or the subscriber unsubscribes, after which they are deleted within 30 days. The aag_age_acklocalStorage entry is stored on your device and not transmitted to us; you can delete it at any time by clearing your browser's local storage.

7. Children's privacy

Asia Adult Guide is an 18+ site and is not directed at persons under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a minor, we will delete it immediately. If you believe a minor has submitted personal data to us, contact contact@asiaadultguide.com and we will act promptly.

8. International data transfers

If you are located in the EU or UK, your personal data (contact/newsletter submissions) is stored in Supabase's EU (eu-west-2) region. It does not routinely leave the EU. If data is transferred to third countries (e.g., Resend's US-based infrastructure for email delivery), such transfers take place under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent safeguards. Other visitors: data is processed in the EU and may be accessible from our operators in other jurisdictions for support purposes; appropriate safeguards (contractual protections) are in place.

9. Changes to this policy

This policy is reviewed quarterly alongside the site content. If material changes are made, the “last reviewed” date at the top will be updated. We will not retroactively apply new processing purposes to data collected under a previous version of this policy without seeking fresh consent where required.
